Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Two years ago, I had the privilege of coming to our school and teach Middle School Social Studies. I also was given the opportunity to coach football. On my first day of school and practice, I realized that I was in the presence of some amazing students and athletes. Not only are they amazing, but they are very smart and talented. The students are a group of a humble student seeking to carry their talents further to become productive citizens.

My Project

Trying to boost morale and build a football program in a small rural Georgia County. 85% population socioeconomic status below the poverty line. Would like to get new uniforms to give athletes something to be proud of and hopefully boost participation in our Middle School football program. Our middle school football team has never had their own team uniforms purchased and have used old high school uniforms in times past. Acquiring new uniforms will show the players that we value their hard work and efforts as we strive to build a program and fulfill their dreams of becoming great athletes.
