My preschool classroom is part of the Great Start Readiness Program. This is a state-funded grant program. I have 16 diverse students in my classroom each year. My students are all at-risk students either due to low-income or other factors such as being English Language Learners or having Speech and Language delays. There are many different ethnicities within my student population as well. My goal is to get each and every one of my students ready for Kindergarten each year.
Please help me give my students some new pretend food for our dramatic play kitchen area. All of our food is old and outdated. It cracks easily because it is so old. I would like my students to explore multicultural food. The Ethnic Food Set will allow them to explore food from other cultures as well as their own. I would like my students to have healthy food represented for the majority of the time in our house area. The Salad Kit and Farmer's Market Bushels will help us to have discussions about what food is in each basket, and why it is healthy for our bodies. Additionally, I would like to be able to change our dramatic play over to an ice cream shop for a few weeks as well. The kiddos will be so excited about this and it will allow them to engage their social skills with friends. All of the materials requested will allow preschoolers to engage in imaginative play and enhance their language and social skills. Thank you!
