When my students come into the classroom, they are excited to see what my wonderful assistant and I have in store for them. They enjoy doing art projects, playing in our many different centers, and learning through play.
I teach PreK at a Title I school in rural West Virginia.
All of the students in the school are offered free breakfast and lunch. Some of the students in the school receive snacks for the weekend, as well as coats and gloves for the winter.
I enjoy making my students feel welcome in my classroom, regardless of what troubles they may be facing at home. I try my hardest to give each and every student the same opportunity to succeed.
My Project
My students are always on the go. From the time they enter the classroom, to the time they leave for the day, they are always learning something. This is why I've requested items for our different learning areas.
In preschool, our learning comes through play and hands-on activities.
Our most frequented areas are our Music, Science, and Dramatic Play areas. I would like to have enough materials to switch out items every month or so.
In the music area, the students enjoy playing songs for my assistant and I. The extra instruments requested will give them the opportunity to listen to different sounds.
In the dramatic play area, they like fixing food for their friends. They need different types of food as well as pots and pans to "cook" the food in.
