My Students

Brave. This word best describe the students I service because of their willingness to overcome all obstacles they face in life to become successful; despite everything that tells them they may fail. Not only do my students come from various backgrounds, but their life experiences are very unique. Many, if not all, of my students come from poverty and parent involvement is lacking. Some students are facing drug abuse, single-parent striving to make ends meet, parents that are in and out of jail, and others who spend their time at home alone.

Despite the lack of support from home, my students come to school eager to learn every day and motivated to achieve their dreams.

As their teacher, I try my best to provide all that I can during the time that I have them. I can only do this with your support.

My Project

With all of the writing that my students do, they sometimes run out of words. I'm asking for thesauruses for my students to help them with their writing.

This tool will allow them to expand their vocabulary and get creative with their essays.

The dictionaries/thesauruses that we currently have available in the classroom are in really bad conditions. They are either torn or written on, and this discourages my students from using them. The thesauruses that I'm asking for are much more practical to use and will speed up the process for my students to find synonyms to use in their essays.
