My students need a camcorder with the accessories to operate it, as well as a DVD/VCR shelf for our classroom.

don't know a lot about music when they start, but are hungry for knowledge. I want them to view their progress over the years from start to finish. "Vision is the art of seeing things invisible." - Jonathan Swift. The opportunity to view through recordings will provide self assessment.
I know most teachers say they have the best students, but in my case, that is the truth.
As a choral director, I get to work with students who desire to be in my program. That makes a great difference. My students are made up of 9th-12th grade and are just like my own kids. I love every one of them and can't help but feel connected and bond with each of them. They are each special in their own way and I only want the best for them. My school is a great school and my administration tries to provide whatever is necessary for a proper education. My students have a great desire to better themselves as musicians using their talents from within. "Music is life" is something that is taken to heart in our classroom and even outside of the classroom when it comes to my students. They simply deserve to have the best they can and I believe this addition will serve in helping them receive more of an education that a book can't give completion in.
We constantly are searching for camcorders with accessories to borrow so that we can record our student's performances. The reason for this is so they can view it and learn from it. By having our own, we would never have to miss an opportunity to record a performance of the students. We could also use the recorder further within the classroom by recording teaching and learning moments and then view the growth rate at a later period. The purpose of the shelf is so our class DVD/VCR player can be connected to our TV. This would also allow a space for the camcorder to rest while plugged into the tv during a viewing. There are many benchmarks required to be covered in this classroom, but one is the aesthetic works of a musical work. The way we accomplish this is through viewing portions of musicals. By having this shelf, we would be able to ensure the students got to watch and complete the expected state education requirements because we would have a place to put the dvd player.
As stated in the previous sections, if students can't see or hear what sounds and postures they are producing, then they will never move forward in growth.
This will improve the classroom in the experience the students receive through their learning and education. They will be able to fix things they see and hear. They will be able to use the method of application at an early age through the opportunity the camcorder provides of being able to view their performances and classroom settings.
