Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students attend a public Title I school in South Carolina. They are a great group of girls and boys that simply love coming to school and adore learning. My students have a passion for discovering new things and come to school daily hungry for more.
Our classroom is blessed with many diverse students, some who have learning disabilities, speak a foreign language and even a few who are newcomers to the United States.
It is our diverse population that makes us special and allows us to grow.
My Project
Please help me give my students wonderful new books to read. My students this year are really excited about reading, but are often let down by the selection of books that we have in both our classroom and school library.
These new books will continue to spark the fire and passion that only reading can ignite.
My students will ooh and ahh as they open these new books and get lost within a new world.
We are also hoping to launch our own reading lives outside of school by adding some wonderful book marks that we can personalize. We can't wait to get started.
