This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-grade teacher at a Title I school in Las Vegas with a high ELL population. We have a great administration that strives for the best for all our students but their budget can only go so far, as well as my own budget. My students are a wonderful bunch of children. They are smart, funny, and enthusiastic to learn, and they deserve the best. I truly appreciate your support and I am looking forward to showing you our new supplies being put to good use!

My Project

Do you remember the joy and excitement as a child of receiving your own Scholastic magazine? I do, I would sit and read the whole thing and I couldn’t wait to answer the questions on the back. It was amazing and never felt like learning. I want to bring the same excitement to my students. Many of my students have not experienced the joy of their own magazine, or even know what a magazine is. Scholastic magazines are an engaging tool to help students with reading fluency and comprehension. When my students pick up a magazine they are taken on a wonderful journey of learning. They will be exposed to current events, science, and many other fantastic subjects. Please help me to make this a reality for my students. Thank you for your generosity. My students and I appreciate it.
