I teach in a multi-age Montessori classroom in which we follow the child and allow them the independence to be in control of their learning. We teach our students how to care for themselves and for others, and when we work together we achieve so much more.
In our classroom we work hard to build a community of students who show love and kindness to anyone who walks through our doors.
They are always eager to learn and have lots of fun while they do.
My Project
These items will help to teach my students about peace, kindness, and mindfulness.
The items listed can be used to facilitate a conversation with my students about how to treat others with kindness and to learn how to live a peaceful life in the classroom and in the community.
The Tibetan singing bowl in an ancient instrument that is used to calm and center the body. This will be used in my classroom by creating silence, aid transitions and to bring students back to center.
Also in my classroom I have created a peace area where students can go when they need a break. The Labyrinth will be used in this area.
