My Students

Our school is a small K-8, school in rural Northern California. Recently the school was able to build 4 new classrooms with an area for outdoor learning.

My students are nature enthusiasts!

They love bugs, bats, and worms. Outdoors is where they love to be! We are very lucky to have an outdoor garden area to use near our classroom.

Their love for learning is contagious. And the excitement on their faces when they have mastered a skill is priceless.

My Project

While dissecting owl pellets, students will learn about owls and the food chain. We will study nocturnal animals, specifically owls, where they live and what they eat.

How are owls beneficial to mankind and why do we need them?

Learning about owls can help foster a love for our environment and teach students how to help preserve nature.

My hope is to inspire my students to take care of the natural resources that we have, and enjoy nature. Learning about owls will help them know not only about the needs of these magnificent creatures but also how to protect them.
