Our school is located in rural Wisconsin and services students in grades K-5. We are fortunate to have supportive families who want the best for their kids and feel proud to have their children at our school, known for it's energy, professionalism, and desire to holistically help each and every student.
We’ve got over 60 curious students who love to learn about other places and people, and they appreciate every opportunity to bring their learning to life.
They are wonderful kids who truly enjoy reading and also delight in activities that lend themselves to more natural discovery and creative expression.
My Project
Our students work incredibly hard through their lessons across all subjects. We do our best to engage our students from day to day for improved participation, retention, and application.
Yet what students remember most are the culminating activities that synthesize their knowledge and encourage individual creativity.
The time we take for in-school projects become valuable learning moments that stay with the kids for the years to come.
These materials will support those projects and create memorable experiences. This is especially helpful for students who normally don't have access to supplies or assistance from someone at home. For our projects, we create biography bottles after a reading and writing research unit. We also produce state floats based on our extensive study of the regions and states of our country. Beyond these basic materials, we will continue to personally purchase any other needed supplies or rely on family donations.
In addition, we are seeking a set of common read-alouds to support our standard work in third grade. These read-alouds go far beyond academic growth, however; they support emotional growth, problem-solving, and other valuable lessons learned through the characters of our books.
