Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a very high needs school in the Bronx. We have limited learning tools and books. I am looking for ways to make learning more accessible to my students.
My goal is to bring the world of reading, math, social studies, science and writing to their fingertips.
In the world my students live in, stability is hard to find. I do my best to create a stable and secure learning environment for my students. Many students in my class don't have a stable home life. I provide this for them each day and make their lives as full as I can.
In my class, we practice growth mindset and think about how we can grow academically, socially, and emotionally each day. Your contribution can help them, too!
My Project
I designed this project to help my students get the basics they need. I have worked hard to teach my students to be proud of who they are and the work that they produce.
Unfortunately, now that we are well into the school year, glue sticks, pencils and erasers are hard to come by.
We need new ones. In this project I have asked for some basic materials to help our writing centers sparkle.
New tape, staplers, and Post-it notes, will enable my student to not just be writers, but writers who revise and edit their work. I look forward to bringing my writing center to life!
