Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This new school year I teach 18 Kindergarten 1 students who are very excited and enthusiastic about learning. Some of their favorite subjects are art, reading, science, and math. Unfortunately, we need support in providing the materials that will help my students learn and succeed in Kindergarten. All of my learners live in an urban neighborhood. Their families are very encouraging and supportive but many of them struggle economically. Your donations to this kindergarten class will help 20 young students learn and grow without having to worry so much about the cost of some of the materials we need.
My Project
My students love to learn about pets and one of the best class pets we could have is one, or two canaries! They would love to be able to have them in the classroom but we need donations for a cage that would host our little feathery friends.
This is why we would like to be able to receive donations for a Prevue canary cage with base and a divider.
If we have pet canaries in our classroom, we will be able to enjoy the male's beautiful songs and also learn how to be responsible friends to our pets - feeding them, and providing them with fresh water every day! In addition, students will be able to enjoy learning facts about birds and nesting! Also, canary songs are famous for creating a more peaceful, relaxed, and playful environment.
