My Students

Our students are the most unique, caring, insightful, and curious people I've ever met. They inspire me every day. The majority of our students come from low socioeconomic households. But, they still show up for school every day with an eagerness to learn.

My class is emotionally, economically, and academically diverse.

Over the school year, my class makes great progress towards building a classroom culture that is inclusive, dynamic, and peaceful. We choose to acknowledge and celebrate our differences, rather than just tolerate them.

At our school, we firmly believe that every person should be treated with dignity and respect.

My Project

"Students including myself love to read. Comfortable seating options would help us learn and read more if we are in comfortable positions. Our classroom would appreciate it so much if we were given bean bags to help us learn and read." -Joseph, Per. 4

"How fun would it be to discuss our books in the comfort of a reading nook filled with bean bags?" -Kate, Per.6

"The office chairs could help us concentrate, focus, and be comfortable." -Sharon, Per. 6

"We would like flex seating because it can be used to help kids calm down and focus on the work at hand, while also giving students a comfortable way of learning. I also think that graphic novels would be a good choice for our classroom because it would allow students like me to experience a new genre we may not be familiar with." -Jonathan, Per. 2

"Graphic novels get me really hooked and I am always very interested in them. The books would help us to visualize and fully understand the concepts." -Aly, Per. 4

"I think graphic novels are the best novels you could ever get into. You can learn about a whole different world and they will take your mind on a journey that only you can experience." -Clarissa, Per. 4

"I would love to have art supplies because we can use them for Language Arts projects. Having art supplies can help us make beautiful posters for the classroom which can make the classroom a fun place to learn." -Jalissa, Per. 4

"I would like more of my classmates to read Harry Potter type books because they are very good. I am really liking the first Harry Potter book so far." -Jose, Per. 2
