We are a small school. I teach about 130 5th graders each day. Our students are not wealthy by any means. Many of our students are on free lunches, and come from situations that most of us can not imagine. That doesn't mean they don't want to learn. They want to do better for themselves, and see the need for a good education in order to have a good job. My goal is for each of my students to be the best at what they do.
My students have the interest in science and love to explore new things. They are so charged up over the simplest of things they find new in their world. The microscopic world is something that is so new to them. They need to be able to see the organisms, but our microscopes are not powerful enough.
If we could have a Megapixel CoreScope, our students would be able to view the specimens at one time. Each of the students will be able to use the corescope to print still images for their reports. Students will be able to use the time lapse sequencing and watch as the organisms change over a period of time. They will be able to share their images with other students either through email or video streaming.
If you can help us, maybe these same students will be the doctors, nurses, chemists, pharmacists, that may make a big difference in your lifetime. If you can help, please do. Thank you for considering this project.
