My Students

Our principal is on a quest to make our school a school of "excellence and no excuses." One of the many ways he plans on achieving this, is to have students know what is going on as soon as they walk in the classroom door.

I teach algebra I in a high needs school district.

Most of my students are ninth graders. They are 14-15 years old. We have block scheduling in our school, which means the students have four different teachers a day. They go from class to class and need to know what is going on in each class with each different teacher.

My Project

Our principal requires that we have the day's objective, a do-now, the date, homework, updates, and a word of the day on the board. There also needs to be room for notes. I am requesting magnetic letters to display this information. It is important to me that the information is neat and eye-catching.

Students should be able to come in a classroom, sit down, and get started.

When the directions are displayed clearly, this is possible. Magnetic letter will simply be a tool to convey "what is going on!"
