What Is a Skater?? Desperate HELP with Vocab Needed!

My students need 1 vocabulary literacy center and 1 library of vocabulary games.

We need your help!! My second graders from a high poverty community are desperately struggling with vocabulary. If I do not increase their vocabulary, it will become a barrier to their education!!

This is the first class I have had with such a low vocabulary. Therefore, I do not have enough materials to build their vocabulary up to grade level! Their sweet innocent faces look up at you as they ask what an ice skater, roller skater, snowmobile and many more items are. It breaks my heart!

If I had this vocabulary center and the games, I would have more materials to help my students. Their vocabulary would expand, and they would have such a better chance at being successful. They would be able to sit down at a learning center that they would greatly enjoy, and gain the skills they need to enhance their education!

My students love hands-on learning. If I was lucky enough to get this proposal funded, I would get to see the excitement and joy in my students as they grow and learn. They would really look forward to using all of these materials. You would have the joy of knowing how much you helped these young kids. Your generosity would mean so much to all of us!!
