Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to class each day excited to learn! They come from a variety of economic backgrounds, and they are a diverse group of learners. My 1st graders are just beginning their school career, but have already learned many things that will help them be successful.
Our school serves students K-5 and is a positive, safe place for students and teachers to learn.
We provide breakfast for all of our students in order to get their day started on the right foot. Many of the students receive free lunch each day and a backpack of food each weekend. Our teachers and staff work tirelessly to ensure our students have whatever they need to be successful.
My Project
My students need books to help them learn about living and nonliving things. These books will make a difference in my student's learning by showing them pictures of living and nonliving things and providing explanations in easy to understand language.
The colorful books by Bobbie Kalman will show my class pictures that they can relate to in their everyday lives and explanations that are on their level.
These books will improve the lives of my students by engaging them in the unit and giving them concrete examples to carry through the unit. All of the resources in this project will help my students learn and understand the world around them.
