Help me give my students these hands-on activities to improve their fine motor skills and to make learning fun! The magnetic blocks are so fun for the kids where it encourages fine motor skills and the students' creative side!
I've got a lively bunch of 4-year-olds this year. They love to play with the manipulatives! I've been teaching for 30 years and have not been able to replace our manipulatives in quite some time. The kids love to play and learn with manipulatives the most of all our activities. They think its play, but they do learn all kinds of skills!
We have 12 boys and 8 girls.
All are bright, energetic, stubborn, funny, playful, and loving! They are eager to learn and are ready to count and learn numbers, letters, cutting skills, fine motor skills, and explore and create from anything you give them! The world is a wonderful place for these four-year-olds and they are soaking everything up that they are exposed to!
We live in a small Oklahoma town the used to be an oil town but has since gone away. We are a chapter one school, which means the majority are under income families.
My Project
They will think they are playing when they are actually learning! We will be using the materials in small group situations. When we are working on skills with the children in small groups, the groups that are not working with us can be learning on their own with these items. They will be developing fine motor skills, letter recognition, number recognition, as well as creative skills.
Making learning fun is very important at this age, for they are just beginning their education and it needs to be positive and fun!
