Help me give my students Dry Erase Whiteboards and the opportunity to show what they know and respond to direct and small group teaching by allowing them to write their answers and solve equations.
I am so excited to work with my amazing group of first graders this new school year. Just like other first graders, my first-grade students love to talk, move, and play. They love to learn new things and have inquisitive minds. They are just learning to read and create words with writing. They are open to exploring how things work around them and collaborating with their peers. They are full of life and love coming to school each day! Finding new and exciting ways to teach and challenge them is my goal!
My Project
This year our first-grade classes gained four additional students, per class. With this and the wear and tear of our current whiteboards and test dividers, we do not have enough of these items for each of our students to have their own. These items are essential in helping our students show what they know and for the teacher to check for understanding in a quick easy way.
This project will impact our students because the whiteboards will give them an opportunity to respond to direct and small group teaching by allowing them to write their answers and solve equations so the teacher can informally assess their understanding as a whole group.
The test dividers will help keep student’s eyes on their own paper while taking formal assessments and help the teacher assess the student's individual understanding better.
