Our school is in an urban area of our county in Virginia.
We have 23 languages spoken at the school, and children from 16 different nationalities attend.
We are proud to support the diversity we encounter daily, but our work requires out of the box thinking to support and engage each learner. Hands-on, real life experiences are optimal formats we choose as we strive for deep understanding. We maximize success for student learning as they are immersed in their learning experiences. These experiences transcend lang uage barriers and open doors for our students!
My Project
Children need materials to support their developing minds!
Students need opportunities to explore and build with materials as they develop their critical thinking and mathematical skills while collaborating on projects.
Using imagination and creativity, students will build with colorful blocks, innately developing algebraic thinking by building using complex patterns. Designed with kids in mind, Legos also support the development of patterns, while giving kids experiences with connection building. Students of all ages are engaged when using magnets, and this magnet set allows them to explore the use of magnets in a fun creative way. The flexiblocks give students an opportunity to take their creativity to the next level! These blocks not only build, like Legos but connect together, allowing students to make a variety of structures!
