My students need to have access to materials that are aligned with the Social Studies curriculum.
This project expired on April 17, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Be the person to expand the world of the young, impressionable minds I work with. Students cannot see outside of themselves and gain perspective of the big world unless they are aware of it.
I teach in a Title I, high-needs school in New York.
The current funding cuts have made it difficult to acquire materials to best teach the curriculum. The students are eager to soak up information, but where will they get the information from? They need material that is specific to the lessons being taught.
The magazines I am requesting would give each student hands-on, direct information about the places and issues covered in the current curriculum. The subscription to New York Studies Weekly that I am requesting is like no other. These magazines will allow students to read about their state's required standards in a fun and friendly format that students will love. Students will eagerly devour each weekly unit as they page through exciting history lessons, aided by stunning illustrations that help them learn.
Be the person to expand the world of the students within my classroom.
Give them the opportunity to learn more about the world around them. Be the person to put these resources directly into the hands of the students that need them.
