I teacher general music in a Title I middle school to regular education and special needs students in grades 5-8.
This will be my third year as music teacher. When I came into the music program, there were no instruments or music for the students to use. Given the age of the students, they enjoy playing instruments and creating music in music class.
We need enough Boomwhackers so that every child will get to play one and not share. Last year I purchased an octave of 8 Boomwhackers, but in a class with 35 students participation is difficult. With new sets of Boomwhackers, the students will get to play music together in an ensemble and participate throughout the entire lesson and not have to wait until it is their turn.
Your help will allow my students to participate together as a class in music. The students will learn how to work together as a team much as they do in sporting activities.
