"We've had enough!" The colonists were tired of British rule during the 1700's so they did something about it! We are learning about how America stood up for itself in the Revolutionary War. We need books about the Revolution so we are standing up for our education!
Third grade students are stretched pretty thin.
They have to learn math and science and English and social studies everyday! Plus many students have extracurricular obligations, not to mention time to enjoy being a kid. So as a class we have decided to do "double duty." With these resources we can work smarter by learning our literacy standards as well as our social studies standards.
My Project
The Magic Treehouse - even the title is inspiring! We are just itching with excitement to get our hands on a story that will help us learn to become better readers and to learn about the Revolutionary War. As a class, we have decided that we would like to learn about the revolutionary war through the examination of fictional literature with a nonfiction companion. Mary Pope Osborne does a phenomenal job of motivating us to learn about our Social Studies!
Want to help students succeed?
Help them to become lifelong learners forever. These fiction novels and the non-fiction "fact tracker" will help students develop a love for reading and learning. When students are interested in something they are reading, they become that much more motivated to learn about the subject matter. A donation today will help students not only in 3rd grade but throughout their lives! What an awesome power that is!
