Help me give my students the gross motor equipment they need to increase motor skills, build endurance, support special needs and embrace an active lifestyle that will emphasize lifelong healthy living.
The small playground at our program is shared by four preschool classrooms. With only one classroom at a time on the playground, or time is limited. We are utilizing an outdoor atrium space that does not have any play equipment. The variety of items I have picked out would allow teachers to set up stations for the children to engage.
We have several students with special needs that require specific movement activities to build skills.
The bouncing platform, the scooter boards and rocking boat, for example, will practice important skills and meet these needs. All children will benefit from the active learning these items will provide. The best part of this project is that on days we are not able to go outside, this equipment can be set up in an indoor space in order to ensure we have daily active gross motor movement.
