Our students live in rural upstate NY, on the border of MA and CT. They are diverse in terms of interests and experiences, but universally wonderful and curious. At over 60% low-income families, our school population is shrinking while the poverty level is rising.
Our students love music!
Our music program has been subject to staffing and program cuts over the last few years, due to shrinking population and financial challenges, but we’re bouncing back and looking to expand opportunities and experiences for our students!
My Project
Modern electronics has been a true game changer for the music field. From consumers to performers, and everyone in between, electronic musical devices and the power they run on have become an integral part of our daily musical existence. We’ve gotten some amazing equipment over the past year or so, much of it through the awesome generosity of donors like you through DonorsChoose and their giving partners (like Yamaha Music that is generously matching donations to this project. Thanks Yamaha!).
With this influx of awesome technology and electronic musical instruments, there is always something that needs to be charged, or batteries that need changing!
The supplies in this project will help us to be ready to handle most of our daily power needs. Whether it’s charging iPads, Bluetooth speakers or headphones, powering USB bus-powered equipment such as our Roland VP-03 vocoder, or having batteries always handy for our Korg Volca synths, the pre-amps on our electric ukuleles or our iRig Nano-amps, we’ll be ready! Rechargeable batteries also allow us to be responsible and respectful consumers as we protect the environment.
Having the power in this era of personal electronics means having ready access to charge and recharge as needed. Help us get the power!
