My Students

My school is a Title I school. Many of our students come from low socio-economic backgrounds...not all, but many. These same students have very difficult home lives. The children love to come to school and a highlight of their day is going to specials classes.

Regardless of their hardships, my students are hard-working and fun-loving children.

They love coming to the music room. My students enjoy singing songs, playing instruments and music games. They like to dance and do activities.

My Project

By using the Mega Bloks and Avery Labels, students will not only be able to write rhythms...they will also get to see the difference in the duration of the music notes by seeing the length of the Mega Bloks. As you know, students learn in a variety of ways. This is another way to help the visual learners figure out rhythm.

Students love to create rhythms.

Music is a class of participation. Students will be actively engaged by using the Mega Bloks with the Avery Labels affixed to them. Students will then be able to write down the rhythms they create. Students will then play their composition on the rhythm sticks.
