Mrs. Rushmore from Indianapolis IN is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a way to put into use the skills they are learning. We need hands-on practice! They need Phonics Magnetic Word Building Board, Word Building Boxes, Reading in a Flash! Letter Fun Learning Tubs, Magnetic Word Builders, Alphabet Magnetic Activity Tin, and letter practice cards.

My classroom is filled with children excited to learn. They come to me at a variety of levels...some mastering skills quickly, some taking extra time and effort to master them. However, when they leave me, they have all learned and feel successful at school. But, it takes a village.
My students are in a high-poverty school where many of them were not able to attend a high-quality preschool.
They come from hard-working families (of many make-ups) who want their children to be successful but may not have the skills to help them. My school is filled with adults who want these children to succeed. We have many intervention programs put into place; we just lack some of the supplies to make it as successful as possible.
My students need Phonics Magnetic Word Building Board, Word Building Boxes, Reading in a Flash! Letter Fun Learning Tubs, Magnetic Word Builders, Alphabet Magnetic Activity Tin, and letter practice cards. The materials I am requesting will be used in both intervention groups (for struggling students) and in small group learning stations. Students will use literacy station boxes and letter tiles to form an understanding of letters and how they create words. Students must have a strong foundation of letter names and sounds before they can read and write. Having these hands-on magnetic tiles and stations will help students learn in a hands-on manner that also strengthens fine motor muscles. These station box resources help students master these basic skills, as well as start to apply them in word-building, reading, and writing. We can also use these as extra hands-on practice for students who are struggling to master these skills. Every student deserves a hands-on environment to learn.
Your donation will allow me to help my students learn basic skills that are fundamental to their success in kindergarten.
The resources in this project will allow my students the hands-on practice they need to master the skills. They also allow them a chance to apply the skills to reading and writing--a valuable experience as transfer is so hard for them! You are giving my students a chance to shine and feel good about their learning. You are giving them a great gift.
