My Students
Remember how proud you were when you grew your first apple? I hope it went to the teacher!
We are a very active and motivated kindergarten to eighth grade school that is located in the hills of an urban school district in Northern California. The majority of students have attended school here since kindergarten and are engaged and dedicated to their studies.
My Project
We will use the shovel, earthworms, shed and pruner to roll-our-sleeves-up, get-really-dirty and experience the hard work and physical activity that it takes to grow our own citrus orchard! These materials will connect to our life science studies that we do at the end of the year - maybe you want to help dissect the frog!
It seems like everywhere you look nowadays there is a new gadget or app that is distracting young minds. We hope that this project will motivate and inspire our youth be go outdoors, be active and enjoy the environment!
