My Students
My students are great kids in a high need area. Last year was devastating because of a hurricane and several ice stores. A year later we are still recovering. While people often question their abilities we ARE turning things around. I'm proud to say that we are making strides forward and everyone at school is very proud of them but we are in need of many things to keep moving and take the students to the next level.
This is the one place our students know is filled with consistent caring adults and is a safe place for all of them, and I believe they are fired up about school this year.
I'm asking for donors to help us continue to grow so we can rise above and make our students, parents, and community proud of our Hawks!
My Project
Our 8th grade finally has a real science lab with sinks, pets, and all sorts of wonderful things that they have never had before. We now need some materials to work on our projects for the Art in STEAM. We have the science and the math, we are beginning to get the technology for engineering but we are lacking in the Art department.
Your contribution can help our students take their learning to the next level with science, technology, engineering, art and math(STEAM) projects.
We need the quality art paper of this size so it is large enough for students to collaborate while they illustrate their ideas. They can draw the Solar system, atoms, chemical reactions, or phases of the moon, labeling everything as they go to rationalize their points.
They will use the science posters as instructional check points to self monitor and with the lamination pouches the students will have a finished product for presentation. These students will bring their learning to life with their polished products that they print out with the classroom printer as well as their illustrations. The goal is to have global learners who can compete with anyone, anywhere and this will get them one step closer.
