I teach in a shared classroom where myself and another teacher focus on developing and strengthening students reading skills. Working with small groups allows me to connect and really get to know my students. That connection gives me the opportunity to individually support and guide each and every student based on their individual needs to become excellent readers.
My students are excited readers and eager to develop necessary skills that will take their reading to the next level.
These students inspire me to never give up. The students I work with are below their grade level reading standards and struggling, but they have showed me to never give up. My students have demonstrated that with hard work and a positive outlook they can achieve and meet those standards.
There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a student with a big smile on their face while they read a book. With my help as an intervention teacher, I will strive to make sure that all my students are given the tools to read a book with a smile on their face.
My Project
These desired materials will make such a difference in students learning. Rather than having students sit in their normal chairs where they lean back and put their knees up, creating a learning block, with these colorful stools students will have to sit up straight when in small reading groups. All while helping them focus and stay on task.
With these donation students will have new exciting books to read.
These new book includes the students interests and corresponds to their different reading levels. Having new and exciting books will have students engaged during guided reading where they are determined to become even better readers.
