Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The coronavirus pandemic has greatly affected the students in my class who have always relied on our school to provide them with materials for their learning. Knowing that we would not be reopening for the remainder of the school year, there is so much unfinished learning that needs to take place at home.
As their teacher, I have been doing my best to assign them learning activities and resources to keep up at home, but many parents are working or have other issues to take care of and unfortunately, this leaves students with no support at home to do their school work.
My Project
My students live in very poor neighborhoods and many do not have the basic school supplies at home. With the struggles that their parents have due to the coronavirus pandemic, I cannot expect them to provide basic school supplies for their child.
In this project, I am requesting for pencils, markers, paper, and pencil sharpeners for my students.
These items will allow them to continue to be creative and complete assignments at home through distance learning in Art, Writing, and other content areas. With your donation, you will continue to give my students the opportunity to further their learning with the use of these basic school supplies.
