I teach literacy, language arts, math, science, and social studies to a class full of great students who are eager to learn, but struggling with obstacles, such as special needs, language barriers, and poverty.

My students and I realize our time at school is precious and that every minute counts, making it frustrating for my students to not have pencil sharpeners and proper tools with which to complete their work. We all know what it is like to try and do a job well with improper tools!

New pencil and crayon sharpeners are desperately needed. We need to be able to have our tools ready to go in a quick, effective way. Minutes wasted on old, faulty, dull sharpeners are minutes that should be spent learning a new skill or engaging in problem solving or inquiry.

Your donation will help my students to "sharpen" their tools and their minds. We will quit wasting instructional time on poor machinery and "get to the point" with these much-needed sharpeners. Thank you for considering this important project!
