Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is an amazing group of fun, hard working preschool students, ages 3-5. They attend a public K-5 elementary school in a high property city. The class is made up of typical and special education students. They love to learn and play. They are learning how to socialize, communicate, and use skills to mature into respectable, dedicated, and hard working students. Many of them come from low-income families that don't have the means or resources to provide practice of the skills learned at school. All students, especially preschoolers do best with hands-on learning.
My Project
My preschool students are learning many new things! We are running out of basic supplies like laminate and Velcro. We need playdough, erase markers, card stock and caterpillars.
We practice fine motor skills, and strengthen our muscles with playdough!
Squeezing, rolling and cutting playdough is so much fun. My students love using playdough, so with all those little hands touching it, it doesn’t last long. We have erase boards, but our markers are used up, and dried out. The playdough and markers will help us learn while we have fun, practice our fine motor skills, and strengthen our fine motor muscles.
My previous students learned about the life cycle of butterflies. They watched caterpillars turn into butterflies. It was amazing to see them so interested and ask so many questions! I want my students now to have this experience also. We have the butterfly supplies, except for the caterpillars. Please help my students get the supplies they need to keep learning!
