My Students

My students attend a public K-5 elementary school in Indiana. My students are eager to learn and love making music. Children have music once a week during the school day for forty-five minutes. If they are a fourth or fifth grader they have the opportunity to join an after-school percussion group that meets once a week. We have a xylophone after-school group and a drum ensemble. Please consider donating to an eager, hard-working group of musicians. You would be affecting 650 lives on a weekly basis.

My Project

The donation of a new metallophone would help our school reach the goal of a 1-to-1 student to instrument ratio. Right now our school is lucky enough to have 17 good quality instruments. However, with classes sizes ranging from 16-25, that often results in children partnering up to play the instruments. This does not allow all children to have the full experience of playing in an ensemble: a skill which promotes higher level thinking, prepares them for middle school and builds community within a classroom. This metallophone is of the highest quality and will last for decades and generations to come.
