We're on Feier! Materials to Set Music Learning Ablaze.
My students need songtales and book materials by John Feierabend to really set fire to our musical learning in becoming musically aware and tuneful people.
Coming from a low socio-economic background, many of our students face daily challenges in and out of the classroom. Most of our student population receives a free lunch as well as holiday and supply assistance. I keep my teaching methods simple so that the students can showcase their talent and ability in learning.
Our students are diverse, creative and tough.
Their love for each other and the school community shines through their efforts in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges facing them currently and ahead, they have a positive attitude and a joy for learning that cannot be denied.
My Project
Having the Feierabend materials will be extremely beneficial to my students' ability to becoming musical people. The SongTales like The Crabfish and There's a Hole in the Bucket offer musical variety in a fun, beautifully presented way. John Feierabend's materials reach to the very beginning of musical learning in a way that is completely different than my students and I have experienced before.
This project will significantly change and improve the musical experiences of my students.
Those students who may have been disadvantaged before coming to us will discover music as a whole body experience, find and use their own unique musical voice and create music in new and exciting ways.
