My Students

I teach third grade in Queens, New York. Our school is a special place with a rich composition of children from diverse backgrounds, particularly serving a large population of English Language Learners and students with disabilities. Many of our students come from families that face financial hardships that limit accessibility to technology. We are actively working to close the Digital Divide through CS instruction and working with DonorsChoose.org will help ensure equitable access to technology tools for all of our students.

All children should be exposed to rich STEM + computer science learning opportunities despite socioeconomic or cultural background.

My Project

The two Google Chromebooks I have requested will be used on a daily basis by my students. They will use them to work collaboratively and apply the skills that are being taught in the classroom from math, ELA, or social studies and geography. The students will be looking forward to working in small groups to create short films. This gives the students an opportunity to use the Google Chromebooks in an interactive way.

These Google Chromebooks will be used as a modification for my students' learning and meeting their individual needs.

Having the access to the materials in a different way will help the students be able to achieve these goals and go above and beyond if they so choose to. Please donate to this great cause!
