My 250 7th and 8th graders attend an inner-city STEM school, where most, if not all students, qualify for free or reduced lunch. This does not take away from their positive and hardworking attitudes.
As our mission states, we believe that students can achieve regardless of race, socio-economic status, ethnic background, or previous academic performance.
As females and minorities are underrepresented in STEM fields, our faculty and staff are determined to change that and disrupt the status quo.
Our 7th grade team will be going on a field trip to Knott's Berry Farm in May. This will be a great way to celebrate the end of the year and our final CAASPP testing.
Many students are not able to pay their way for this trip.
This funding is going to be used for the students who are unable to afford the trip but would still like to attend. I would love for all of our students to be afforded the opportunity to experience this trip without money being an issue.
Thank you in advance for any assistance! Every little bit helps!
