My students need school supplies! With the upcoming school year, my students need homework binders to stay organized, dry erase clipboards for multipurpose learning and glue and scissors for centers!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher in the South Bronx in the poorest district in the country. Most of our students qualify for free lunch and live in shelters. So for our students the odds are stacked against them. However you would never be able to tell that they live such hard lives. Each day they come in eager to learn and awaiting what the day has to offer. Our classroom becomes more than a place of learning it becomes HOME! It is my goal that with every class I teach they get all opportunities I can afford them.
My Project
This project is for back to school supplies. This year I will be implementing a homework binder. Im hoping the binder will last longer than a folder. With a binder I will be able to provide materials that can help with homework. The binder will also help students stay organized. I am also asking for dry erase clipboards and markers. Often times students are using dry erase boards and these clip boards provide more space to draw. Having dry erase markers ensures that each child receives their own. Lastly, I am asking for glue sticks and scissors. A first grade class is always in need of glue sticks for various projects we are completing! For each child to have their own supplies makes learning more accessible!
