My students walk into the classroom each morning, excited, eager, and ready to learn. They set ambitious goals related to their academic and behavior achievement and focus hard on working towards these goals. I teach at a Title I school in Virginia where 100% of our students receive free lunch.
My students have the drive to succeed, but need the right tools to be successful and engaged!
As an inclusion classroom, I have a wide diversity of social, emotional, and cognitive needs in my classroom. I want to provide my students with a classroom environment where they can thrive academically, behaviorally, and mentally despite their hardships at home.
My Project
Unstructured play is such an important aspect for the growth of young minds. Recess is key to this unstructured play and is imperative for day to day learning. Sometimes, there are unpredictable indoor recess days when weather is a factor. Instead of students choosing technology every indoor recess day, they need cooperative, creative thinking inspired activities.
Using these indoor recess games, students will collaborate, communicate, think critically and creatively, and demonstrate good citizenship.
I want my students to be able to have free-choice for indoor recess, hopefully providing them with activities they won't have at home. By supplying my students with quality, fun, creative indoor recess activities, I can encourage creative thinking and non-electronic play. Thank you so much for supporting our classroom!
