Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students and I work together in a growth mindset classroom. I will be moved into a second grade classroom upon the start of the new school year. I work to influence and create a passion for lifelong learning in my classroom through a variety of teaching methods and hands-on activities. My classroom is a living space that contains anywhere between 20-24 students at a time where we use every inch of space to work, learn, and play. My class works on creating a welcoming environment to everyone who enters our room.
My Project
Our class will begin using flexible seating this year to include a variety of seating options. Students will be able to choose their own seat and work in a location that suits them.
Flexible seating will promote active learning, encourage students to take responsibility for their leaning, help their attention spans, and increase motivation and engagement.
I am excited to see flexible seating in action and the improvements in the student's academic performance, behavior, and health. Through flexible seating, I will be able to build a better classroom community and create an environment suitable for students to show how they can be respectful, safe, and responsible through their seating choices.
