My Students

My students need more flexible seating to help focus during class and create a comfortable and ergonomic learning environment.

Flexible seating has been linked to higher academic performance, improvement in physical health, and improved behavior.

Having the ability to choose your work environment is an innovative way to empower students. It provides the students with the best work environment for individuals to focus. An increase in movement throughout the day improves overall health and fitness. Behavior problems decrease as students are able to fluidly move through activities and assignments.

My Project

Having wobble stools in my classroom will provide more flexible seating options for my students. Flexible seating has been proven to improve student engagement and learning. Wobble stools give students the option to move while completing work.

Having students sit at non-traditional desks adds a need for more storage within the classroom as well.

Having new paper "mailboxes" will provide my students a specific place to put their work. For flexible seating to work, students need a "home base" for papers and projects that is easily accessible throughout the day. This provides students their own space to responsibly keep track of their materials.
