My Students

My students have a real enthusiasm for everything we do. They are eager, curious kids who have a desire to learn! They are the reason I do these projects.

I teach a group of wonderful kindergartners in a Title One school.

My students come to me from a variety of backgrounds and academic levels. Some of my students have parents available at home to read aloud to them or to help with homework, but many do not. For many, their experiences outside of our small community are very limited. That being said, our school works hard and was designated as a Reward School in the 2018-19 school year.

My Project

My kids are hard workers, and though work is important, kindergarteners need to have plenty of opportunities to practice social skills. I like to provide my students with a variety of activities that allows them to practice their academic skills while they are 'playing'.

One of the favorite student choices is the kinetic sand.

I am looking for additional sand to create additional bins, as well as to replace sand that has been lost (spilled to the floor). I am also asking for a set of number shells to include in the sensory bin.
