Help me give my students a place to cook. We love to pretend and our favorite thing to pretend to be is a great big happy family. This modern kitchen will enable a lot of imaginative play.
Most of my students are experiencing school for the first time. My students have not spent much time away from their home and family and need a safe, secure, loving, organized environment in which to learn.
My students are inquisitive and curious about the world around them.
My students learn through hands-on experiences. Pretend play is their way of learning and the more they use their imagination during learning the more their vocabulary increases.
My students have also had a life changing experience due to Hurricane Harvey. These kids lost everything and the things we have in the classroom have enable them to play, pretend, and just be kids again.
My Project
We need a kitchen to cooking in and this unique modern looking Chef's kitchen by Melissa and Doug and kitchen accessory set will give my students a wonderful opportunity for a lot of learning through pretend play. As they play and create they will be building their vocabulary.
Most of my students were affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Their families are slowly rebuilding. Many of my students lost all their toys and their parent have not been unable to replace them all.
I want to give my student a safe, organized, structured space to pretend and learn. This modern kitchen will remind them of what they now have in their homes.
