This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As a music teacher, I have the opportunity to create a tremendous impact on every student throughout the school. Seeing the students growth from year to year is something that fills my heart with joy and gives me more motivation to teach. There is a growing trend to bring Yoga, Social-Emotional learning, mindfulness and meditation into the classroom. I see myself becoming a facilitator of these practices and this professional development will give me the tools I need to help implement these amazing life skills. Many of my students are high needs and have experienced trauma. Now is the time for healing.

This as an opportunity to help myself, my students, my school and community to grow stronger.

This training will help me empower my students to live their best life. I want to teach my students how to express their feelings, calm their minds, have healthy bodies and find their talents. This professional development will bring real change. I'm confident my only regret will not be doing this sooner. Thank you for your support and this opportunity to join Breathe 4 Change .
