My Students

LMMS is home to 1,400 Warriors! We have a diverse student body who come from different backgrounds, have a variety of interests, and are navigating through their own social-emotional well-being. On top of academics, our students are learning how to manage life challenges such as conflict with family and friends, loss and grief, body image, mental health, and self-esteem issues. School can often be a safe haven for students as they navigate their social-emotional well-being. A Wellness Center at LMMS will provide a safe and supportive space, for all students, to learn coping skills through their educational experience.

My Project

Materials such as a zen sand garden, zen water art, fidget toys, sensory finger rings, and books will provide them with the proper tools to learn how to self-regulate.

When kids are dealing with emotions they can't manage, they spend less time in the classroom.

If we at LMMS can provide them with the necessary mindfulness tools and quiet, peaceful space, they can develop the proper skills to self-regulate and stay in the classroom.

Aside from teaching self-regulation skills in our wellness room, we will also run small groups such as anxiety, friendship, social skills, etc.
