Help me give my students tools to help them regulate their emotions in our school's wellness room.

My Project

The wellness room at our school is a place that students can go to regulate their emotions. It's a tool that students can use that allows them to leave the classroom environment and go to a separate, calm space with an adult present and available to support as needed. This room is intended to support the health and wellness of our students. Each student has unique needs, making stocking a variety of tools in the Wellness Room a necessity. All of the tools that I am asking for are tools that were used often by students and found to help them regulate. Because of this, many of these tools are more worn out at the end of the year than others and need replacing.

The mental health of our students is very important.

These tools will help us support our students with their mental health and wellbeing. The fidgets, such as the putty, Rubik's cubes, puzzle balls, and Nee Dohs, give something for students to do with their hands when they are feeling big emotions. The kinetic sand is a popular tool, allowing students to use their hands and be creative. The wobble chairs allow students variety in how and where they choose to sit in the wellness room. Being able to move on this chair allows them to release energy as they play quietly. All of these tools are intended to help our students regulate so that they can return to class ready to learn.
