Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Students in grades 9-12 at in a diverse and exciting classroom. Students in my class are excited to explore the world of engineering as possible career field in the future. My students are inventive and creative in solving real world problems and are hungry to learn new things.
My students enjoy the use math and science in practical activities creating things that improve everyday life.
My students look forward to moving on from high school continue their education in a college or vocational/trade training program, many of them looking toward the military to pay for their college.
My Project
As our program grows, more and more students want to get involved in out Engineering Electric Car program. When we had just 8 students last year, we had enough safety equipment. Now that we have a full class, plus a dozen extra returning students that join us after school and during study hall. Due to the growth we need more safety gear.
Real world STEM applications while building team work with real life hands learning.
The young men and women in our class will practice MIG welding our new car designs. Additional safety gear will allow more students to have the experience of actual welding and assembling with designs, and not just computer drawings.
