Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I will be working with amazing 3rd and 4th-grade students with special education needs. I will embrace their many strengths, and we will build a strong community together. It is a new grade level band for me, and I'm excited to work alongside students to build their agency and love of learning!
The students are inquisitive learners, and bring their curiosity and interests to our learning space!
We're eager to build a strong community together to center their strengths and interests in our learning.
My Project
I will be moving to a new grade working with wonderful 3rd and 4th students needing additional academic and behavior supports in school. As a special education resource teacher, I am asking for your help to build an environment where students have the choice they need to access learning. This project, if funded, will provide flexible seating for students in our resource classroom to support individual needs for students. The seating will provide options for students to work in various spaces, while also getting sensory input through the stability balls as they work. It will provide students ownership of the space and their learning.
My goal is to individualize learning for each child, and seating is a big part of our classroom environment.
