My students love learning! Math, science, language arts—it's all fun to them! They are energized and full of life! Together, we make learning discoveries and connections across curricula.
Many of my students are from military families and move regularly.
They share the burden of making a new home and new friends every few years, parents who are home, but not home because of their military time commitments. Some have family members being deployed, and yet all are proudly serving our country.
My Project
We live in a technologically advanced world. A world where typing has become a necessity. A world where games can help our mathematical understanding. A world where our creativity can come alive on screen. Being a student today not only means learning basic reading, writing, and arithmetic, but it also means learning computers. With the addition of two more Chromebooks in my classroom, my students will be able to more regularly dive into our digital world.
These computers will allow students to use mathematical programs such as Dreambox, Zearn, and Prodigy.
These programs allow for remediation, practice, and enrichment. Students will be able to type their essays and stories in order to publish them. They will have more access to researching topics and learning about the world around them. As the world becomes more technologically advanced, classrooms need to follow suit.
