My pre-K students live in a very low-income area in Dallas, Texas. In our school, our goal is to prepare them with the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful. My students' age range is from early four to early five years-old. They are eager to learn new things and engage in fun and exciting learning activities. They like to learn by playing games, creating, and teaching each other and me.
My students make me smile every day and give me the inspiration to do my best in the classroom.
My Project
This year I discovered that my students like making puppets with left over paper from our classroom work. That's when I knew I can incorporate puppet making to my lessons. We have the material so my students can create a puppet for each letter to better learn each letter name.
We need a storage unit so my students will have easy access to the materials they need for their creations.
that begin with each letter. It has been proof that when something is enjoyable and meaningful for a student is easier for them to remember. Each week some students will have the opportunity to share their creation with classmates and with other classes as well. I think these puppets will keep then interested in learning their ABCs.
